Black Forest is an unincorporated community located in El Paso County, Colorado, United States. It is situated northeast of Colorado Springs and has a population of around 15,250 as of the 2020 census. The area is known for its dense stands of ponderosa pines, as well as its proximity to the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains.


Black Forest Geographic Info

Geographically, the Black Forest spans an area of around 217 square miles, and has an elevation of around 6,200 feet above sea level. The community is situated on the eastern edge of the Pikes Peak region and is known for its rolling hills, forests, and grasslands. Notable Events in Black Forest

Notable events in Black Forest include the Black Forest Fire, which started on June 11, 2013 and burned 14,280 acres, destroyed 486 homes and killed two people. Another notable event is the Black Forest Trail, which is a 2.5-mile trail that winds through the pine forests of the Black Forest Regional Park.
